Focus and Scope

The Journal of Applied and Emerging Sciences (JAES) is HEC recognized peer-reviewed open access international journal, published biannually by Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS). JAES publishes original research articles, review articles as well as case reports in a wide range of subjects. JAES welcome article submissions from all science and technology research areas including Engineering and technology, computer sciences and Information Technology. JAES is intended to provide a forum for the expression of new ideas, as well as a place for the exposition of these areas of knowledge that can further enhance understanding of science and technology issues and concerns. Each article published by The JAES will be available on the journal's website in downloadable full-text PDF form. JAES uses a blind review process. We reject articles that are specific to one population or location, that are not easily understandable in English, and/or do not address our main focus.

Peer Review Process

Submissions/abstracts are usually shared in the editorial forum. Reviewers are generally selected at this forum. A submission can have three or more reviewers. Each submission is first examined by the editor for its relevance to journal focus and scope; if found relevant, it is next examined to check whether the author guidelines have been followed adequately. Reviewers are requested to write their comments so as to be informative and helpful to the authors. The typical time taken to review is about 4-8 weeks. After the editorial decision is made, all the reviewers get to read each other's review.

Open Access Policy

All research articles published in JAES Open Access journals are fully open access, immediately freely available to read, download and share. Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license which permits the use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant(s) to all users a free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship, as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use.
A complete version of the work and all supplemental materials in PDF format is deposited immediately upon initial publication in JAES online repository.

Archiving

Publication Policy

Each submission is first examined by the editor for its relevance to journal focus and scope; if found relevant, it is next examined to check whether the author guidelines have been followed adequately. Reviewers are requested to write their comments so as to be informative and helpful to the authors. The typical time taken to review is about 4-8 weeks. After the editorial decision is made, all the reviewers get to read each other's review.
To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity. To help with this preparation please ensure the following when submitting to JAES.

Peer Review Process

Each published article is reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the author. All articles are screened for plagiarism before acceptance as per Higher Education Commission (HEC) guidelines.

Conflict of Interest

Author Responsibilities: Authors are required during manuscript submission to complete the online form, to disclose any conflict of interest and to acknowledge all funding sources supporting the work. The corresponding author must ensure that all authors have been asked to disclose any conflicts of interest.

Reviewer Responsibilities: When asked to evaluate a manuscript, reviewers and editors must disclose any association that poses a conflict of interest in connection with the manuscript. Recent collaborators, defined as people who have coauthored a paper or were a principal investigator on a grant with any of the authors within the past 48 months, must be excluded as editors and reviewers. Referees and editors are asked to recuse themselves from handling a paper if the conflict makes them unable to make an impartial scientific judgment or evaluation. A referee or editor who has a conflict but believes that it does not preclude his or her making a proper judgment must disclose to the journal the nature of the conflict.

JAES Policy: JAES recognizes the multiplicity of financial and other conflicts confronting authors, referees, and editors. JAES adopted a policy that does not aim to eliminate conflict but to manage it. The most important element of our policy is that all authors, members, referees, and editors must disclose any association that poses or could be perceived as a financial or intellectual conflict of interest in connection with the manuscript. Divulging a potential conflict usually does not invalidate the research or the comments of a referee or editor; it simply provides the reader information necessary to independently assess the work.
When a conflict of interest is disclosed either by the author or editor, a footnote describing the conflict will be included with the published article.
JAES reserves the right to publish an erratum disclosing conflict(s) of interest related to a previously published paper. Authors, referees, or editors who have deliberately or recklessly failed to disclose conflicts of interest may receive sanctions, including being banned from publishing in JAES for a period of time. This policy applies to all material published in JAES including research articles, Perspectives, Editorials, and Reviews. For clarification of the policy, please see contact JAES.
